R.E.S.C.Q.
Redwood Empire Schools' Care Quest-Hotline Provided by the
Redwood Empire Schools' Insurance Group
R.E.S.C.Q. Goals & Objectives-We have implemented a school support
program for the prevention and reporting of school crime in Sonoma County schools.
It is our goal to reduce violence in our schools and provide greater protection
of our students, staff and community, by way of this communication vehicle intended
to aid in the investigation, arrest and prosecution of individuals responsible
for contemplating or committing acts of violence against our schools.
Dedicated Phone Line-A 24 hour, toll free phone line, (877) 570-7770,
records calls from students and community members reporting threats and acts of
crime against students, staff and facilities. Messages and information received
on the R.E.S.C.Q. line are passed on to individual school/district personnel
for investigation and handling. When the toll-free number is called, it automatically
pages RESIG staff for review of the call after which the appropriate school/district
personnel are called to receive the actual message. Reward System-The
R.E.S.C.Q. Program provides cash rewards of up to $1,000 to persons
reporting individuals who are responsible for crimes or conspiracies against Sonoma
County Schools. Rewards are provided through RESIG Safety Funds or program donations
received from the Business Community. Back to the top
R.E.S.C.Q. Posters-11 x 17 posters for schools to display
on campus with an overlay of the school name displayed, as well as posters for
distribution and use by supporting businesses and support organizations are now
available in both English and Spanish. In addition, posters are available
to be made for acts of vandalism, violence, or threats against our schools.
R.E.S.C.Q. Pencils & Cups- Program pencils and cups
with the R.E.S.C.Q. phone number are being distributed to schools for distribution
to students and staff. We are actively soliciting business sponsorships
to assist in funding the program. Materials may be ordered without charge by completing
the Supply Order Form and faxing it to RESIG. R.E.S.C.Q.
Committee-The program development, implementation and ongoing monitoring involve
a community effort by RESIG Board & Staff, School Personnel, School Support
Groups, Police and Sheriff Departments, and the Sonoma County Business Community
interested in supporting this public education project.
